3Prytanie inne, für die Chairephon S.d. Archestratos aus dem Demos Kephale
4Sekretär war; im Elaphebolion am neunundzwanzigsten, dem drei-
5ßigsten (Tag) der Prytanie. Beschluss des Volkes; Kybernis
6S.d. Kydias aus dem Demos Halimous stellte den Antrag: Da der Bund der
7Aitoler, seine Frömmigkeit gegenüber den Göttern unter Beweis stellend,
8beschlossen hat, die Festspiele der Soterien einzurichten für
9Zeus den Retter und Apollo Pythios zur Erinnerung
10an die erfolgte Schlacht gegen die Barbaren, die zu
11Felde gezogen waren gegen die Griechen und das Heiligtum des Apollon,
12das gemeinsame (Heiligtum aller) Griechen, (und) gegen die auch (unser) Volk
13ausgesandt hat die Spezialtruppen und die Reiter als Mitkämpfer
14für die gemeinsame Rettung; und hierüber der
15Bund der Aitoler und der General Charixenos eine Gesandtschaft
16ausgeschickt haben zu dem Volk, die (mit uns) Gespräche führen sollte, damit
17das Volk diese Festspiele billige, und zwar die musischen im
18Range wie die Pythien, die sportlichen und hippischen im Range wie die Nemeen,
19sowohl in den Altersklassen als auch den Preisen - - -

4On the twenty-second of Elaphebolion, the thirtieth
5of the prytany. The People decided. Kybernis son of
6Kydias of Halimous proposed: since the federation of the Aitolians
7demonstrating their piety to the gods
8have decreed that the competition of the Soteria shall be held for Zeus
9Soter and Pythian Apollo as a memorial of the
10battle that occurred against the barbarians who
11attacked the Greeks and the sanctuary of Apollo
12common to the Greeks, against whom the People sent out
13the elite troops and cavalry to share in the struggle
14for the collective preservation, and concerning this matter the federation
15of the Aitolians and the general Charixenos have despatched
16to the People an embassy to hold talks so that
17the People might [acknowledge] the competition as of equal footing
18with the Pythian in music and with the Nemean in athletics and equestrian contests;
19both in age divisions and honours - - -
